Obituary

Thomas F. Jones, 89, died on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital. His wife, Wilma A. (Cullen) Jones, died in 1996. Formerly of Paxton, Mr. Jones resided at Overlook Masonic Health Center in Charlton since 2011. He was born in Worcester, son of Blanche (Bracewell) and Charles P. Jones. Mr. Jones was a Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He worked as a photoengraver at Wiley & Whitney in Worcester for 26 years and then at the Worcester Telegram & Gazette for 23 years, retiring in 1990. He also worked part-time as a waiter at Pleasant Valley C.C. and several other Worcester eateries for a number of years. He was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church; Guiding Lights Lodge A.F. & A.M. (formerly Athelstan Lodge), Worc. Scottish Rite Bodies, Conn. Valley Consistory, Melha Shriners, Hampshire Shrine Club, Melha Old Timers and Clown Units, the Clown Union, and Aletheia Grotto M.O.V.P E.R.
He leaves four sons, Kevin Jones of Naples, FL, Gregory Jones, of Worcester, Keith Jones of Palmer, and Mark Jones of Spencer; 1 daughter, Pamela Brown of Eloy, AZ; 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Jones.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 6-8 pm. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester. A Masonic Funeral Service will be conducted by the members of Guiding Lights Lodge A.F. & A.M. at 7 pm. The Funeral service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
