Tommy C. Ashford Obituary - Water Valley MS

Tommy C. Ashford, age 66, died Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at his home in Water Valley, MS.
He was born March 9, 1949 in Water Valley to the late Tomie Robert and Elsie L. Brewer Ashford. Tommy served in the United States Army National Guard and was a member of First Baptist Church in Water Valley, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (Odd Fellows), and the Masons. He was a retired Postmaster for the United States Postal Service. Tommy was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed farming, collecting guns, riding motorcycles and spending time with his grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 16, 2016 with Rev. Fred Eakes officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, with Robbie Ashford, Hunter Ashford, Shawn Davis, Austin Davis, Earl Earley, and Lou Andrews serving as pallbearers. Dennis Proffer, David Edwards, Bobby Joe Stribling, Don Davis, Bob Rutherford and Rev. Fred Eakes will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Gayle Davis Ashford of Water Valley, MS; his son, Robbie Ashford of Water Valley, MS; his sister, Cindy (Gordon) Andrews of Water Valley, MS; five grandchildren, Hunter Ashford, John Paul Ashford, and Ryen Ashford, Makenzie Chandler and Gracey Callahand.
