Phyllis J. (Lunn) Murphy, age 78, a life long resident of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton.
She was the beloved wife of the late Norman D. Murphy, to whom she was wed for nearly 40 years at the time of his death on Feb. 21, 2004.
Born in Attleboro, MA on May 8, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Esther (Phillips) Lunn.
A 1955 graduate of Mansfield High School, Phyllis had worked for over 25 years at the Doolittle Home in Foxboro prior to retiring.
Phyllis’s hobbies included playing computer games, knitting and crossword puzzles. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially little dogs.
She is survived by her devoted children Gary E. Murphy and his wife Bonnie of Mansfield and Toni M. LaPorte and her husband Todd of Groveland. She was the dear sister of Vernon Lunn of Mansfield and the late Alan Lunn and Harold “Sonny” Lunn, Jr. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services along with burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be private.
