McMAHON, John F. “Jack” 100 years old, of West Roxbury passed away on January 10, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Mary F. (Gammon) McMahon who died in October 2015. Born in Boston on January 13, 1915, the son of the late James H. and Bridget (Dougherty) McMahon. John grew up in the Mission Hill area of Boston until moving to West Roxbury in the early ‘60’s. Mr. McMahon served in the Army during World War II in England and France. He is survived by his daughter Kathleen M. Celorier, her husband George, and grandson, Michael, of Franklin, Mass. He was a retired Post Office employee and also an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan. He was a member of the Mil-Par Bowling League, Irish Social Club, and the Roche Community Center. Visiting hours 9-11am at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Friday, January 15th followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa Chapel at 11:30am. Relatives and friends invited. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
