Mary L. Richards, 63, of Worcester died peacefully at home on Tuesday December 29th. She leaves a son, Geoffrey M. LaViolette of Worcester; a daughter, Melissa L. Ng and her husband Benjamin of Worcester; a sister Ann N. and her husband Ernie P McLeod of Worcester; a sister-in-law Karen Richards of Auburn; her beloved granddaughter Sophia Pearl Ng and several nieces and nephews. Mary also leaves her beloved cats, Bruce and Boo-boo. She was predeceased by a brother Michael W. Richards.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Harold L. and Pearl G. (Thompson) Richards. Mary graduated from the LPN program at David Hale Fanning and enjoyed working for many years at Westboro State Hospital until retiring. Mary enjoyed going on cruises with friends, trips to the beach, going on car rides, crocheting, crossword puzzles, cooking and cooking shows, and most of all spending time with family. She loved music especially the Beatles and Bruce Springsteen, and enjoyed attending concerts.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 5th from 4:00 until 6:00 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 5:45PM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Veterans Inc., 69 Grove St. Worcester, MA 01605.
