Obituary

Angelo Zoto, 93, died Wednesday December 23th at home in Hyannis. He was predeceased by his wife Hriso (Tsaliki) Zoto to whom he was married for 55 years; two sons, Arthur Zoto and Michael Zoto; a sister Marianthe Litchie and a brother Michael "Mihal" Zoto. He is survived by two grandsons, Daniel Zoto of Hyannis and Christopher Zoto of Worcester; a daughter-in-law Irene Zoto of Worcester, and a nephew Dimitri Zafiroglu of Delaware.
He was born in Kakavia, Albania, the son of Athanasios and Ioanna (Cotcho) Zoto. He relocated to Istanbul, Turkey in 1936 to apprentice in his uncle’s grocery store. He later opened his own grocery store in Taksim Square, Istanbul. In 1949 he married Hriso. They had two sons, Arthur and Michael. He relocated to Worcester with his family in 1966 where he worked as a baker for Table Talk Pies. There he was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral. He moved to Hyannis in 2008 to live with his son, Michael, and later, his grandson, Danny. Angelo wore a smile from Kakavia to Hyannis.
The funeral is Thursday December 31st from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a service at 11:00 a.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
