Obituary

Robert Joseph Ham, 84, of Worcester passed away on Wednesday, December 23rd in the Golden Living Center.
He was predeceased by his parents, LeRoy Ham, Sr. and Alice (Doherty) Ham; his brother, LeRoy Ham, Jr. and his wife, Jean (Barnes) Ham. Robert lived in Worcester most of his life. Mr. Ham leaves his longtime friends, the Fletcher Family and the Bernard Family.
Robert graduated from St. Peter’s High School and Clark University with a bachelor degree in business administration. He served in the United States Navy from 1951 until 1955 aboard two different Air Craft Carriers, the U.S.S. Bennington and the U.S.S. Bonhomme Richard engaging in combat with North Korean and Chinese Communist forces, receiving a letter of commendation for combat operations in 1952. He was awarded the national service metal, Korean service medal (2 stars), United States service medal, Navy occupational service medal with European Clasp, Korean Presidential citation, Navy unit commendation ribbon, and the Good Conduct medal.
Mr. Ham was employed by several small companies over the years. The job he enjoyed the most was in a grammar school in Connecticut. Robert was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, seldom missing any games.
We would like to thank all the staff at the Golden Living Nursing Center for Bob’s care. He had excellent care and attention during his stay there.
His funeral is Monday, December 28th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 11:00 A.M. in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Please omit flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to Veteran’s Inc., 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
