Earl J. Smith 69

Rochdale- Earl J. Smith of Rochdale passed peacefully with his best friend and daughter Deborah at his side on Friday, December 17, 2015 at the age of 69. Formerly wed to Meredith Doe Smith of Spencer.

Earl leaves behind Deborah M., her husband Gary J.Milliard Jr. and grandchildren Jonathan and Benjamin Milliard of Rochdale.

Earl leaves behind a son Earl J. Smith II, his wife Heather and grandchildren Cash Smith of Rochdale and granddaughter, Lucinda Orne of Webster.

Earl, the youngest of seven children leaves a sister Carrol Dodds of Spencer. Earl now rests with his sisters Dorothy Otts, Betty Raymond, Connie Smith, Mary McGee and brother Harold Smith as well as parents Dorothy and Harold Smith also formerly of Rochdale.

Earl owned and operated the Auburn Globe Mobil before retiring in 1995. Earl enjoyed traveling, gardening, timber frame construction, and spending time with his family and friends.
Earl was proud to have served in the U.S Army in the Vietnam War and served two tours in 1966 and 1967. Earl received six medals during his 11 month 19 day deployment. Earl was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Oxford Post 5663.

A Graveside Ceremony will take place on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 10 A.M. at St. Roch’s, Cemetery in Oxford.
