Obituary

Nikolaos H. Souflas, 81, of Leominster, died Thursday, December 17th in UMass Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. His wife of 54 years Stavroula N. (Angelopoulos) Souflas died in 2013. He is survived by his son, Christos N. Souflas; his daughter, Maria Corliss and her husband, David all of Leominster; a brother Vangeli Souflas and his wife, Maria of Athens; three grandchildren, Valentine Vautour, Tiffany Souflas and Niko Corliss, six great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Brianna, Talia, Michael, Gia and Matthew. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Evthokia Souflas of Athens and many nephews and nieces. Mr. Souflas was predeceased by his brother, Dimitri Souflas.

He was born in Aggi Pantes, Filiates, Epiros, Greece the son of Hristos and Athena (Kakoutsis) Souflas; and had served in the Greek Army as a nurse in Filiates. Mr. Souflas had owned and operated Papou's Pizza in Leominster for many years. He had also worked as a photographer and was seen with his camera at many spiritual and social events at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral as well as wedding and baptisms there. Mr. Souflas was a long time member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and the Order of AHEPA.

His funeral is Monday, December 21st at 11:00 a.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. There are no calling hours. O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is assisting the family with arrangements.
