Obituary

Jeannine H. (Brassard) Hacanis, 83, of Auburn, died early Sunday, December 6th at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home with her loving family at her side. Jeannine was the beloved wife of the late Andrew Hacanis Sr., who died in 2009 and with whom she shared 32 years of marriage.
Born on February 14, 1932, Jeannine was the daughter of the late Robert and Myra (Bergeron) Brassard. Jeannine leaves her sisters, Jacqueline Martin from Worcester, MA and Linda Brunelle from Cherry Valley, MA.
Jeannine always enjoyed being surrounded by her family. She was a devoted mother and was preceded in death by her two sons, David Kasparian and Daniel Kasparian, late long life partner of Stephanie Sholtz. She leaves her four grandchildren Ashley, Evan, Tia and Jaya and great grandchildren Evan Jr. & Arielys. She also leaves many devoted nieces and nephews and many adored great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jeannine began her vibrant and active life in Leominster, MA. She was a graduate of Saint Bernard’s High School in Fitchburg, MA. Jeannine’s talents were recognized at a young age. She was creative and had a sense of style in both her dress and home decor. Her magical voice accompanied her unforgettable smile and twinkling eyes that lit up every room. For several years, she was the lead singer of the popular Eddie Hamilton’s 26 piece band. Her charm continued even off the stage where she enjoyed cooking and entertaining as a hostess at both her home and at several fine local restaurants. She was an excellent cook and words could never adequately describe the wonderful smells that emanated from her kitchen.
Jeannine was a soft spoken, gentle and fun-loving woman. She was an avid animal lover and tried to save and feed every homeless animal she came into contact with. She enjoyed volunteering and helping those in need. She was the “cool” aunt that that everyone wanted to be around. She was simply generous and never came to visit family or friends without some sort of thoughtful gift.
Jeannine’s family and friends will always remember her love of the game just as much as life.
She enjoyed playing card games, especially poker, with her family and friends. She was an avid athlete and sports enthusiast. Her tennis and golfing talents were known to be unmatched. She was a devoted New England sports fan dedicated to the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox despite living outside of New England for several years.
