Obituary

WEBSTER - Ronald A. “Ronnie” Ledoux, 78, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side Friday, December 4, 2015 in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge following a long illness.
He was born in Webster and raised in Dudley, the son of Joseph Armand Ledoux who died in 1966 and Florence (Allen) George who died in 1977. He moved to Worcester in 1952 and graduated from South High School in 1955. He moved to Webster with his mother in 1959.
He leaves a sister, Carolyn D. Gatto and her husband Ernest Gatto, Jr. of Webster. He also leaves many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Ronnie first took employment at the H & H Brown Shoe factory in Worcester for several years. Afterward, he entered the restaurant business alongside his mother at The Park Grill in Worcester and then at Emil’s Dairy Bar in Webster. Following his mother’s passing, he continued on as the owner of Emil’s and subsequently Emil’s Food for decades. He touched the hearts of thousands of patrons with his witty personality and unique charm.
In his retirement, he stayed active with his love of gardening and spending time with friends and family with whom he continued to share his passion for cooking by preparing gourmet dishes for many years. He was an active member of the Southern Mass. Beagle Club in Douglas for 45 years, where he spent countless hours with his beagles. He loved the outdoors. His selfless acts of kindness were well known and appreciated by everyone that knew Ronnie.
The family would like to thank the staff at Harrington Memorial Hospital Cancer Center for their outstanding care and compassion for Ronnie during his illness.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Monday, December 14, in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street. Donations in his memory may be made to Harrington Health Care Cancer Center, 100 South Street, #201, Southbridge, MA 01550.
