Obituary

WORCESTER/CENTERVILLE- Helen Florence (Dupuis) McClane 86, passed away Tuesday, December 1st, 2015 in Worcester where she has lived for the last 7 years. Helen joins her late husband Lt. Col (USAF ret) Allan R McClane who predeceased her in 1979.


Helen was a true Cape Codder born on October 22, 1929 to the late Napolean J. and Mary (Snow) Dupuis. She grew up on Cape Cod, graduating from Barnstable High School. She worked at the New England Telephone company until she met and married her husband, Allan. They went on to lead what she called a very fortunate and full life traveling with the Air Force and living all over the world including France, Morocco, Germany, Newfoundland and across the US from Washington to Maine. Helen and Allan retired to the Cape in 1967 and purchased the Corner Package Store in North Falmouth which they ran until their “second“ retirement in 1978. Helen retired to Sarasota in 1985 and returning to summer on Cape Cod. She moved back to Massachusetts in 2009 to live in Worcester and be closer to her family.


She was predeceased by her daughter Ellen E McClane in 2013 and her sister Louise Parker. She is survived by her children Allan Ritchie McClane and his partner Malinda Beeman of Marfa, TX, Robin Carroll and her husband Thomas of Paxton, MA and their children Lia Carroll, Amanda and her husband Chris Robidoux, Thomas Jr and his fiancé’ Kim Wilcomb, and Peter McClane of Cummaquid, Ma and his children Kristen McClane and Caitlin McClane of Greenville, NC. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren Jackson and Alex Robidoux and Celia Carroll who brought her much joy these last few years. She leaves a sister Yvonne Spence and her brother Buddy Dupuis and his wife Natalie and many nieces and nephews.


The family would like to thank the staff at both Christopher Heights Assisted Living and Christopher House for their kindness, caring and help with making Helen’s last year’s comfortable and happy.
