Patricia A. (Reedy) McCarthy, 73, of New Bedford died Wednesday November 25, 2015 unexpectedly at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of the late David M. McCarthy.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Thomas S. and Dorothy B. (Correia) Reedy, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. McCarthy was formerly employed as a home health aide for Kimberly Quality Care.
She loved watching the New England Patriots and the Boston Bruins, and socializing with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Michael D. McCarthy and his wife Sheryl of Fairhaven, and Colleen A. McCarthy Cregan of New Bedford; five grandchildren, Mary K. Cregan, Daniel M. McCarthy, Patricia C. Cregan, Dennis J. McCarthy, and William D. Cregan IV; and her nieces and nephews, Kelly Todman, Deven Reedy, Arthur Caesar, and Elizabeth Barclay.
She was the sister of the late Thomas D. Reedy.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM in St. Lawrence Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
