Frank Johns, 67, of Fitzgerald, died Monday, November 23, 2015, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Friday, November 27, 2015, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Clinton Griffis and Pastor Wanda Thomas officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from Noon until the funeral hour at the funeral home on Friday.
Mr. Johns was born March 5, 1948, in Fargo, Georgia, to the late William Vilas & Blanche Maw McSwain Johns. He worked at the cotton mill and made pallets. He was employed with the Sunny Dale Training Center in Ocilla and the Jessamine Place in Fitzgerald. He was a member of People First and attended the Fitzgerald Church of God.
He is survived by a sister, Rosetta & Harold Giddens of Fitzgerald as well as two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Many nieces and nephews also survive. The family would like to acknowledge his caretaker, Wanda Thomas of Fitzgerald, for helping to care for him the last few years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother: John Henry Johns, brothers: Howard Johns, Norman Alfred Johns, Jack Edward Johns, J. W. Johns, Willie V. Johns, and Harley C. Johns; and a sister, Geneva Fulford.
