Richard M. LaPointe, 64, of Raynham passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015 surrounded by his family after a valiant battle with cancer. Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Joseph LaPointe and the late Mary (Perry) LaPointe. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Cindi, son David, son Jack and his wife Sarah, his adoring granddaughter Genevieve, his grandson Giovanni, brothers Roger and the late Raymond, as well as his niece Jennifer & family and nephew Fred & family. He is also remembered by countless friends who were vital throughout his life.
With an unmatched work ethic, Richard worked various jobs throughout his life, but none more fulfilling than his time with the United States Postal Service because when you control the mail, you control...information. He was an avid sports fan of all the Boston sports teams as well as the Dallas Cowboys. In his later years, golf became a favored activity of his and he made many a divot at Parker Golf Course in Taunton. It’s been said that great men rarely live long lives, but it’s what they do during their life that makes them great and Richard was no exception. A Mass will be held at Holy Family Church on Middleboro Ave in East Taunton on Saturday, November 28th at 1 PM.
