James P. Sullivan, 76

James P. Sullivan, age 76, of Norton, formerly of Roslindale, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the beloved husband of Mary B. (Horton) Rohrick
Born in Boston, MA on December 17, 1938, he grew up and was educated in the Dorchester section of Boston.
For over 40 years, Mr. Sullivan has been employed as a dispatcher for the Boston Buffalo Express in Boston. He had made his home in Norton for the past 40 years and was a former resident of Roslindale.
Jim attended St. Mary’s Church in Norton. He especially loved the wonderful times spent with his family, especially at Christmas when he dressed as Santa Claus entertaining his adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was an avid New England sports fan, the Patriots and Red Sox being his favorite teams to cheer on. Jim also liked being with his dogs “Mitsy” and “Winnie”, fishing, bowling, and of course scratch tickets.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted and loving children Deborah Meloni of Quincy, Charlotte Daly of Braintree, Ricky Rohrick of Norton, Barbara Hynes of Norton and Elizabeth Rohrick of Stoughton. He is also survived by his cherished 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Saturday, November 21st at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 20th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
In lieu of flowers, Jim’s family has requested that donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Department 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908
