LEICESTER: J.Derek Davis 1438 of Main Street, died Monday, Nov. 16 as the result of injuries suffered in a car accident on Rte. 146 So. in N. Smithfield, RI.
He leaves his wife April A. (Hall) Davis and his beloved daughter Emma S. Davis, both of Leominster, as well as his parents Ronald A. and Agnes M. (McCormick) Davis of N. Brookfield, his four brothers Ronald J. Davis and his wife Martha of E. Brookfield, Mark A. Davis and his wife Doreen of Spencer, Todd A. Davis and his wife Jennifer of Leicester, Shawn Davis and his wife Christine of Worcester, and his three sisters Kathleen M. Brown and her husband Brien of Rome, NY, Kimberly A. Davis and her partner Joseph Holloway of N. Brookfield and Karen N. Davis and her partner Matthew Jones of Worcester, many nieces/nephews and 2 uncles.
Derek was a longtime master welder; most recently working at Package Metal Buildings in Sutton. He previously was an instructor at Lincoln Technical Institute in New Britian, CT, as well as welder/fabricator at Ken-Weld in Worcester and Consolidated Fabrication in Auburn.
Born in Worcester and raised in N. Brookfield, he graduated from N. Brookfield High School in 1991 and later from Bay Path Vocational School in Charlton in 1993.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a scholarship fund for Derek's daughter Emma.
