Worcester – Eleanor J. (Letiecq) Schelin, 89, passed away on Sunday, November 15th in the Worcester Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family.
She is predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Wray Schelin Sr. who died in 2007. Eleanor is survived by her three children and their families, daughter, Sandra Anderson, sons, Wray Jr. and his wife Lee and Wayne and his wife Maryann, her grandchildren, Alison, Eric, Neal, Deidre, and Brian as well as many nephews and nieces.
Mrs. Schelin was born in Worcester on March 7, 1926 and is predeceased by a brother Robert Letiecq and a sister, Phyllis Bolduc. Eleanor was a longtime Shrewsbury resident and worked in retail services for many years. She was an avid bowler and golfer and was a long time member of Green Hill Golf Course and the Worcester County Women’s Golf Association.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, November 27th at 1PM at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church 695 Southbridge St. where she was an active member for many years.
Private burial will take place in Hope Cemetery and memorial contributions in memory of Eleanor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472.
