Obituary

Rose Marie (Albanese) Burgess, 88, of Maynard, passed away Wednesday November 11, 2015 surrounded by her beloved husband Roger and family.

Rose Marie was born in Waltham on July 5, 1927 daughter of the late Michele and Madalena (Scalia) Albanese. She attended the Waltham Public School System and lived in Waltham most of her life.There she raised her family with her husband Roger.
Her life work was serving and caring for others as a Nurses Aide in the local Nursing Homes as well as Waltham Weston Hospital and for the VNA. Rose had a special gift demonstrated by an out pouring of love and compassion for those in need.
Following her retirement she and her husband moved to Maynard. She was active at the Summerhill Glen Club where she served as Activities Coordinator for many years. Rose was a member of the Maynard Senior Club. She also enjoyed teaching arts and crafts, but what she loved most was spending time with her family.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of 45 years, Roger “Whitey” Burgess; her children, Madalyn McElhiney and her husband John, Michael Clark, Linda Brown and her husband Marcus, and her youngest daughter Francesca Albanese; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; seven great greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Joesph Albanese and Vincent Albanese and his wife Josephine, and her brother in law Michael Shea; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
Rose is predeceased by her daughter Ann Marie Firkins and her husband Gene ; two sisters Frances Albanese and Theresa “Terry” Shea; and her sister in law, Adeline Albanese.
Rose also leaves behind two very special friends who were “like sisters” to her, Carolyn Pye of Maynard and Gloria Rickman of Waltham.
