Paulette Quarles Serra Tomaras, age 73, died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born April 11, 1942 in Calhoun County, MS to the late Allie and Velvia Hope Quarles. Paulette worked as a hostess for several restaurants and enjoyed cooking and gardening prior to her retirement. She was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church of Water Valley and a devoted mother and grandmother.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks, with Bro. Lynn Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS. Paulette is survived by the love of her life, John Tomaras of Water Valley, MS; two sons, Joseph Robert “Bob” Serra of Water Valley, MS and John Tomaras of Joliet, IL; her daughter, Tina Tomaras of Shorewood, IL; two sisters, Mary Helen Chandler of Water Valley, MS and Faye Tidwell of Lafayette County, MS; six grandchildren, Geno Sanchez, Patrick Sanchez, Jacob Sanchez, Neil Sanchez, Jesse Tomaras and Jenna Tomaras; two great-grandchildren, Liam Sanchez and Mason Sanchez; two beloved nieces, Amy (Billy) Myles of Jackson, MS and Judy Chandler (Joe) of Water Valley, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anita McGregor and Virginia McCord; and two brothers, James Quarles and Gene Quarles. | ||||
