Obituary

LEICESTER: Alfred W. Dandro, 96, of Gleason Way died Saturday, Nov. 14 in St. Vincent Hospital after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 74 years, Dorothy J. (Cherry) Dandro, three sons; James W. Dandro and his wife Kathy of Kannapolis, North Carolina, William L. Dandro and his wife Nancy of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Paul J. Dandro and his wife Beverly of New Park, Pennsylvania, three daughters; Janet A. Lima and her partner Harold of Lecanto, Floria, Linda J. Dandro of Greenville, South Carolina and Jane E. Ciras and her husband Thomas of Charlton, 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dandro was born in Leicester, son of Louis and Mary J. (Cole) Dandro. He served his country during WW II in the United States Army and was awarded a Bronze Star. He worked at Bonner Sheet Metal in Worcester for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 63. He was a handyman and enjoyed gardening, hiking, snowmobiling and fishing.
The Funeral will be held Wednesday, Nov. 18 from MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main Street, Leicester. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 5:00-7:00 pm in the funeral home.
