Obituary

The Reverend Doctor William P. Fillebrown, Sr., age 64, died peacefully at home on November 4, 2015. He had been the Pastor of the Chiltonville Congregational Church for 15 years and the Fire Chaplain for the Town of Plymouth. Although a true Plymouthean he graduated from Wachussett Regional High School in Holden, Ma. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business from Stonehill College as well as Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry Degrees from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.Rev Fillebrown served churches in Massachusetts, California and New Jersey. Ministering in his home town of Plymouth was the fulfillment of a long time goal. For many years he was active in the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches on Regional, National and International levels. He was an active member of The Theological Commission of the International Congregational Fellowship, contributing articles for their International Journal.For many years he was a World Traveler, taking advantage of opportunities to teach at seminaries in Ukraine, Turkey, Lebanon and Brazil. He enjoyed visiting students at their seminaries in Africa, China and South America.Bill loved reading, playing the guitar, sports and stimulating conversation.He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Deborah (Moore) Fillebrown; his four sons: William and his wife Cassandra; Thomas and his wife Mikelle; Andrew and his wife Amanda; and Peter and his wife Therese. He leaves seven grandchildren: Michelle and her husband Iain, Anthony, Kyle, Julian, James, Elijah and Lucas.He is survived by his brother John R. Fillebrown Jr. and his sister Marcia Cornelius. Rev Fillebrown was predeceased by his father and mother John R. Fillebrown Sr. and Eleanor G. ‘Winkie’ (Sampson) Fillebrown of Plymouth. Also survived by several nieces.Visiting hours will be on Friday, November 13 from 4-7 PM at the Chiltonville Congregational Church, 6 River Street Plymouth. A memorial Service will be on Saturday, November 14 at 10:00 AM also at the church followed by a collation.
