Nellie C. (Gloor) Barclift, age 97, of Mansfield, formerly of Woodstock, CT passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard P. Barclift.
Born in Union City, New Jersey on July 7, 1918, she was a loving daughter of the late Fritz and Caroline (Scharer) Gloor. She grew up in Weehawken, New Jersey and was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.
A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, Mrs. Barclift had made her home in Mansfield for the past ten years and was a former longtime resident of Woodstock, CT, While living in Woodstock, she was a member of the First Congregational Church and sang in the church choir.
Nellie loved being a big part of her family’s activities. When younger, she was involved with scouting and had also served as a registrar of voters in CT.
She is survived by her devoted son Gary L. Barclift and his wife Jackie of Mansfield. She was the cherished grandmother of Kari Egan and her husband Michael of Milton, Brett Barclift of Waltham and the great grandmother of Aiden Eagan. She is also survived by several cousins.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday November 21st from 2:00-5:00 P.M. at the Foxborough Country Club, 33 Walnut St., Foxboro, MA 02035.
