Mary Frances Pruett Russell, age 75, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 at her home in Water Valley, MS surrounded by her family. She was born April 18, 1940 in Water Valley, MS to the late Winfred and Irene Woods Pruett. Mary worked as a seamstress for several years at Big Yank in Water Valley and later worked as a Nurse's Aide for Oxford-Lafayette County Hospital and Yalobusha General Hospital. She was a member of Mt. Liberty Church. Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed working word search puzzles and flower gardening.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. James C. Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Sand Hill Cemetery in Yalobusha County, MS with Chris Russell, Keith Hooten, Jason Russell, Rickey Wood, Kyle Wood and Brad Wood serving as pallbearers. Mary is survived by her husband of 59 years, William Glenn Russell of Water Valley, MS; one son, James Ray (Deborah) Russell of Water Valley, MS; one daughter, Linda Karen Russell of Water Valley, MS; two grandsons, Chris (Brandy) Russell of Oxford, MS, Jason Russell and their mother, Brenda Russell of Water Valley, MS; four great grandchildren, Haley Russell, Carson Russell, and Karter Russell all of Oxford, MS, and Anna Faith Irby of Water Valley, MS; three sisters, Margie (Frank) Calvi of Horn Lake, MS, Pat (the late James) Wilson of Banner, MS, and Melanie Pruett of Oxford, MS; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John Eugene Pruett. | ||||
