Richard Keith Monk Obituary - Water Valley MS

Richard Keith Monk, age 47, died Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born October 11, 1967 in Triangle, VA to the late Albert Lee and Edith Williamson Monk. Richard was a self-employed contractor who enjoyed hard work and helping others. He dearly loved his children, grandchildren and family; and his smile and laughter will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 11, 2015 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Virgil Nelson officiating.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Shelby Ray Monk (Chris) of Huntington, WV; his son, Richard Keith (Rachel) Monk, Jr. of Fredericksburg, VA; two sisters, Deborah Monk Atkinson of Oxford, MS and Lisa Monk (Ricky) Butler of Stafford, VA; four brothers, Ronald Allen Monk, Timothy Albert (Bridgette) Monk and Mark Anthony (Sandy) Monk all of Stafford, VA, and James Russell (Carrie) Monk of Fredericksburg, VA; three grandchildren, Harley, Daimon and Gabrielle; and a granddaughter soon to be born.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sherri McMarty Monk and his brother-in-law, Will Atkinson.
