Cooper, John I. 88 years young, of Marshfield Hills formerly of Mission Hill and Brookline, passed peacefully following a brief illness at Brigham and Women's Hospital on Sept. 23rd, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Nancy (O’Connell) Cooper. Loving father of Regina and her husband Jack MacDougall of Marshfield Hills, Margaret Cooper of Marshfield, John and his wife Linda of Duxbury, Maryann and her husband K C Sadrzadeh of Sharon, Elaine and her husband Jeff Kracov of Duxbury and Jeanne Cooper and her partner Kevin Furtado of Plymouth. Devoted grandfather of Sean, Daniel, Michael A., Fallon, Michael R., Mark and Sophia. Brother of the late Blanche Dorsey, Clare Paquette, Jean Funk, Madeline Kilgallon, Cyril, Edwin, Paul, Reginald and Laurence Cooper. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends and his devoted K-9 companion, “Sam”. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury on Monday morning Sept. 28th at 9:30. Followed by a Funeral Mass in the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, “The Mission Church” at 10:30. Visiting hours Sunday 4pm – 8pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Interment private. Late Veteran WWII, U.S. Navy. Member of the Carpenters Union Local 40 and Life Member VFW Post #864, Brookline.
