James Northrup, Jr., age 79, died suddenly on Sept.19, 2015. He was the beloved longtime companion of Barbara Ertbawey of Stoughton. Born in Plymouth, MA on July 15, 1936, he has son of the late James William and Ruth (Armes) Northrup. He was educated in Plymouth and was a graduate of Plymouth High School, Class of 1954. He also attended Northeastern University in Boston. For most of his life “Jim” had worked in the Pool business. He was the owner of Carefree Pool Service as well as the Pool Hut. He moved to Sharon from Plymouth over 20 years ago. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was known as a multitalented musician. Besides leaving his companion Barbara, he was the devoted father of Vicky Hlinka and her husband Ronald of Edgewater, FL, James W. Northrup III and his wife Leah of Plymouth and Stephen Northrup and his wife Sandra of Lakewood, Washington. He was the beloved brother of Brian Northrup of New Bedford, MA and grandfather of 6 - Billy and Jossilynn Taylor, James Northrup IV, and David, Samantha, and Benjamin Northrup.Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Sept. 25th, 2015 in the Davis Funeral & Cremation Home, 373 Court St., Plymouth from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Davis Funeral & Cremation Home on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Tom Iddings officiating.
