Obituary

John A. Miketa, Jr., age 84, of Plymouth, died Thursday September 17th a the BID Hospital in Plymouth. He was the devoted husband of Dorothy E. (Conopa) Miketa. Loving father of Rosemary Zinser of Richardson TX, Susan Pace and her late husband Richard of Cumberland RI, and James Miketa of Plymouth MA. John was also the grandfather of Kaitlin, Lauren, Megan (husband David), Matthew, Eric (wife Laura), Kara, and Zach, as well as great grandfather of Elizabeth, and Nathan. Born on June 21, 1931 in Chicago IL, son of the late John and Mary Miketa. John served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and later went on to work as an Insurance Manager for Providence Washington Insurance for over 40 years. John loved traveling with his wife Dorothy, having seen the majority of the world. They especially enjoyed cruising, a favorite voyage was a trip to the Pacific, Australia, and Southeast Asia, where they studied WWII and the Korean conflict. John was a huge Patriots fan, he went to several games with his son, and son in-law, and was lucky enough to have seen many championships, most notably the snow bowl. He was an avid golfer, and was a member of Georgetown Country Club. John enjoyed puttering around the house, and yard, he could fix just about anything. A visitation will be held at the Davis Funeral Home. 619 State Rd. on Monday Sept. 21st, from 4:00 till 7:00 pm. A service in the funeral home will take place the following day at 11:00 am, followed by burial in the MA National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:45 pm.
