WORCESTER-Bernice M. (Fernane) Barry, 91, of Worcester passed away Thursday, September 10 in the Holden Nursing Center.
She leaves her husband of 65 years, John J. Barry; three children, Stephen M. Barry and his wife, Linda and their children, Ashley, Emilie, Alyson Wytas and her husband, Jonathan and Elizabeth of Leicester, James E. Barry and his wife, Elizabeth of Worcester and Kathy A. Card and her husband, Roland and their children, Nicole and LeeAnn of Paxton; a sister, Joan M. Garson of Worcester and many nieces and nephews. A brother, Edward J. Fernane predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of Edward J. and Bernice E. (Nanatovich) Fernane and graduated from Commerce High School. Prior to raising her children, Bernice worked for the Thom McCann Company. She was a member of Saint Stephen’s Church and volunteered for Union Hill School. Bernice spent her life dedicated to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending holidays with them and cooking their favorite desserts. She will be deeply missed by her family.
The Funeral Service will be private. Burial will be in Saint John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 72 East Concord Street, C3, Boston, MA 02118.
