Obituary

Worcester-Joseph R. Cataldo, 67, passed away after a long battle with lung cancer, at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 9.

Joe is survived by his three daughters, Nichole Cataldo, Erin McDonnell and her husband Jason, and Ashley Cataldo. He is also survived by two grandchildren, JJ and Violet McDonnell; his sister, Liisa Cataldo and twelve cousins. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Dora (Leppilahti) and Joseph Cataldo, Sr.
Joe was born in Worcester, MA, in 1947 and lived in that city until his death. He graduated from South High School in 1965 and WITI in 1967 with a degree in electrical engineering. Following his graduation, he began a 30-year career at IBM, where he worked as a field engineer and software support specialist. After his retirement, he continued to pursue an active interest in computing and electronics, playing his guitar, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with his two grandchildren, whom he called "Papa's Boy" and "Dungaree Doll." Joe also served in the Air National Guard for many years and was a member of the Chester P. Tuttle American Legion Post #279.
Thanks are to JHC Hospice, especially Donna, Emily, Kelly and Renee. With their help Joe was able to remain at home during his illness.

Funeral Services are private. Burial will take place in All Faith Cemetery. Arrangements in the care of LINDQUIST LUNDIN Funeral Home, 36 Butler Street.
