Obituary

Florence E. (Hilton) Dillon, 103, of Worcester, died Wednesday, September 9th in Knollwood Nursing Center. Her husband of 48 years, Thomas F.J. Dillon, died in 1981. She leaves three sons, Thomas F.J. Dillon and his wife, Carol of Worcester, James R. Dillon and his wife, Pauline of Holden, and William S. Dillon and his wife, Katesel Strimbeck of Newport, VT; three daughters, Anne D. Laganelli of Norristown, PA, Mary E. O’Neil and her husband, William F. of Holden, and Helen I. Cronin and her husband, Bernard M. of Boynton Beach, FL, and; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Her brother, Ralph Hilton and her sister, Irene Miller pre-deceased her.
She was born in Auburn, the daughter, of Ernest and Agnes (Spencer) Hilton and had been a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Parish. Mrs. Dillon played an active role in her husbands’ insurance and real estate business. She will be remembered for her love of cooking, baking and knitting; but most of all as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Briarwood Continuing Care and Knollwood Nursing Center for the exceptional care and attention provided to our mother during her stay.
Her funeral will be held Monday, September 14th with a funeral Mass at Noon in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove Street (please meet at church). Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the charity of your choice.
