Obituary

WORCESTER: Robert D. Jarvis, 65, a resident of Charlton, formerly of Worcester, died peacefully at home, after a brief, courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 5, 2015.
He leaves his wife of 35 years, Nancy A. (Alexander) Jarvis; two sons, Ryan A. Jarvis, Robert D. Jarvis, Jr. and his wife Kimberly, all of Worcester; two brothers, William L. Jarvis, III of Paxton, Greg Jarvis of Los Angeles; two sisters, Mary-Louise Cullen of Lincoln, CA and Michaela Jarvis-Lempinen of Trieste, Italy; three grandchildren, Angelo, Robert Henry and Javion “JJ” Jarvis; and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Dorothea A. Muller of Huntington Beach, CA, predeceased him.
He was born in Quincy on August 18, 1950, son of the late William L. Jarvis, Jr. and Theresa B. (Sibielski) Jarvis. He was raised in Scituate and Paxton. He graduated from St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury and lived in Worcester for many years until recently retiring to Charlton.
Bob worked as a sales professional in the home improvement industry for many years. He was the winner of many sales awards including being recognized nationally for his Diamond Level sales volume achievement. Much of Bob’s career was spent with Builders Specialties Company in Worcester, servicing the entire New England Region. He was a member of St. John’s Church in Worcester and several professional builders organizations including the Worcester County Builders Association. Early in life he enjoyed playing music professionally and was a drummer with several local bands. In addition to his love of music, he treasured spending time with his grandchildren whom he adored. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, sharp wit and his never ending list of home improvement projects.
Bob’s family would like to express their most sincere thanks to the doctors and staff at St. Vincent Hospital as well as the St. Vincent Cancer and Wellness Center for their compassionate care and support.
CALLING HOURS will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 9 in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 11 A.M. on THURSDAY, SEPT. 10 in ST. JOHN’S CHURCH, 40 Temple Street, followed by burial in Notre Dame Cemetery.
