Delores Gills, 68, of Ashburn, Georgia, died Sunday, August 30, 2015, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, September 3, 2015, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Gills was born January 26, 1947, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to Edna Yancey Arthur and the late Theo E. Arthur. She was a customer service manager at Harvey’s as well as a homemaker. She loved to cook and enjoyed decorating houses. She was an energetic, full of life and compassionate individual to everyone she met. Mrs. Gills was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Pete Gills of Ashburn; children: Robert Blum, Jenifer Hall, Scott Blum, and Jason Blum, all of Fitzgerald and Gary Gills of Ashburn; step-children: Amy Gills of Warner Robins, James Gills of Fitzgerald; nine grandchildren; her mother, Edna Y. Arthur of Fitzgerald; and a brother, Emery Arthur of Florida.
