Hellon K. Hogan, 78, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, August 31, 2015, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, September 3, 2015, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. J.W. Taylor and the Rev. Chuck Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Englewood Cemetery, Ben Hill County. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hogan was born March 29, 1937, in Stephens County, Georgia, to the late Noah Clinton & Ora Pitts Kelley. She formerly worked at McLellan’s 5 & 10 and Fitzgerald Underwear. Mrs. Hogan also helped her husband in his construction business. Together they built each of their children their own home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Hogan was a member of Englewood Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Tony Calvin & Anita Hogan, Jennifer & Emory Cheek, Jr., and Wanda & Keith Ashton, all of Fitzgerald; six grandchildren: Amber Hogan, Cal & Amanda Cheek, Kristina & James Tripp, Amanda & Jamie McBryant, Crissy & Dean McMahan, and Courtney & Stephen Peterson; great-grandchildren: Rylan Cheek, Lezli Rae Hogan, Amber McMahan, Britian McMahan, Makayla Peterson, and Peyson Peterson; two brothers: Everette & Marie Kelley of Rebecca and Calvin & Shirley Kelley of Cleveland; and one sister, Mary Brown of Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin C. Hogan; three brothers; and one sister.
