Obituary

LEICESTER: Lawrence St. Martin, 90 of 1075 Main St., died Saturday, August 29 in St. Vincent Hospital.
His wife of 67 years, Agnes L. (Gelineau) St. Martin, died last year. He leaves two sons Paul St. Martin and his wife Gloria of Wolfboro, N.H., and Joseph St. Martin and his wife Joanne of Mystic, Ct., two daughters Jeannine Aquino and her husband Philip of Dracut and Pauline Ramsey and her husband Steven of Spencer, a brother Joseph "Ray" St. Martin and his wife Angie of Worcester, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother Napoleon St Martin and a sister Alexina Wiggins.
Larry was a plumber at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester for 25 years, retiring in 1990.
Born in Oxford, he was the son of Napoleon and Emma (Robidoux) St. Martin and later served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He served on the ammunition ship USS Sangay (AE-10) and the USS YMS 302 ( a mine sweeper). He was a longtime member of the VFW Post 7556 in Rochdale.
Larry and his late wife Agnes were recognized by the Governor of Massachusetts for their many years of volunteer service to the community.
He was a member of St. Joseph/St. Pius X Parish, member and former custodian of the Leicester Senior Center, the Leicester Knights of Columbus Council 4528 and was a longtime volunteer for the nutrition program at the Senior Center.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 2 from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Tuesday, Sept. 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Senior Citizens Club of Leicester, P.O. Box 143, Leicester, 01524.
