Reginald H. Cave, age 86, of Taunton, formerly of Sharon passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Morton Hospital in Taunton. He was the beloved husband of the late
Bertha (Boucher) Cave and the late Myrna F. (Chapman) Cave.
Born in Lawrence, MA on March 10, 1929, he was a loving son of the late Arthur and Margaret Cave. As a young boy, along with his family Reggie moved to Newfoundland, Canada
where he was also educated. Upon returning to the United States, he lived in Billerica and later in Dracut.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Cave had worked as a camp caretaker for over 20 years at The Salvation Army at Camp Wonderland in Sharon. He had previously been employed at Christy Construction as a member of the Carpenters Union.
Reggie was a member of The Salvation Army Church and was a church musician who enjoyed entertaining others playing the euphonium. He was a simple man who enjoyed working with his hands, spending time with his family and always a good laugh.
He is survived by his devoted son Donald A. Cave and his wife Michelle of Taunton. He was the loving grandfather of Phillip Cave and his wife Maria, Cameron Cave and Nicole Cave all of Taunton.
His funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday, August 26th at 11:00 A.M. at The Salvation Army Camp Wonderland, 186 Massapoag Ave., Sharon. Burial will follow at the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Sharon.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, August 25th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, Reggie’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to The Salvation Army Camp Wonderland, 186 Massapoag Ave., Sharon, MA 02067.
