BOYLSTON-Shirley M. (Penny) Buxton, 88, of Boylston passed away Wednesday, August 19.
Her husband of 55 years, Richard D. Buxton, Sr. died in 2003. She leaves three children, Susan L. Nordberg and her husband, Robert of Sutton, Elizabeth A. Buxton of Boylston, and Richard D. Buxton, Jr. and his wife, Debra of Boylston; seven grandchildren, Jen, Jann, Joshua, Beth, Amanda, Richard and Tanner; four great-grandchildren, Kacey, Karlene, Kira and Boston. Shirley was born in Worcester, daughter of Robert and Ruth (Wright) Penny and graduated from Worcester Girls Trade School.
Shirley retired in 1988 from the former Frohock-Stewart Company in Northboro. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Boylston and the Rachel Chapter, no.61 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She and her husband enjoyed traveling with the RV group VT Green Mountaineers Chapter #78.
At Shirley's request a Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Congregational Church, 10 Church St., Boylston, 01505; or the Rachel Chapter no.61, OES, Grafton, 01519; or the VNA Care Network Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, 01608.
