SPENCER; Mark W. "Sparky" Burnor, Sr., 54, died Saturday, August 15 at UMASS Medical Center, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 18 years, Denise T. (Carey), two sons, Mark Burnor, Jr. and his wife Laura of Sturbridge, Travis Burnor and his fiancee Markee of CO,
his mother, Joyce (Gordon) Hames and her husband Richard of Spencer, a brother, Kevin Burnor of Malaysia, six sisters; Judy Burdett and her husband Roy of Oxford, Colleen Burnor of Spencer, Karen Burnor-Voellings and her husband Paul of Spencer, Donna Hayes and her husband Kevin of Spencer, Kristin LaCross and her husband Michael, Heather Brooks and her husband Ronald, both of VT, three step-sons; Herbert F. Seymour and his wife Kristi of Warren, Keith Seymour and his wife Windy of No. Brookfield, Sean Seymour and his wife Jacqueline of Spencer, 10 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many other extended family and friends.
He was pre-deceased by his father, Ralph "Bill" Burnor in 2000 and a brother, David Burnor in 1974.
Mark was born in Ware. He was an oil truck driver for many years most recently driving for Charlton Oil, Co.
He served his country during the Lebanon-Grenada era in the Army.
Mark loved his family and enjoyed classic cars, playing horse shoes, listening to country music, especially George Jones. His second love was his 1963 Chevy Nova.
The family wishes to send a special Thank You to all the Staff in the ICU at UMASS for all their kind care of Mark.
A Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, August 22 at 2:30 p.m. in the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr. Calling hours will precede the Service from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Please omit flowers. Contributions may be made in Mark's name to a charity of ones choice.
