Willard Richard “Dick” Durkee of Taunton, formerly of Stoughton and Brockton passed away at his home Thursday, August 13th surrounded by his loving family at the age of 82. Born and raised in Stoughton he graduated from Stoughton High School class of 1951. He served in the US Army 2nd division in Korea for two years. He was a member of the Stoughton VFW. He retired in 1989 after 32 years with Northrop Corporation in Norwood MA. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Wilton) Durkee of 58 years. He was the son of the late Gertrude Whitney Durkee Bartel and Edgar Durkee and stepson of the late Oswald Bartel. He is survived by his three children, son Steven and Michelle Durkee, daughter Susan and Raymond Patricelli and son Robert Durkee and Beth Longo. His eight grandchildren Christopher and wife Karin, Danielle, Jeremy, Kayla, Jennifer, Nicole, Geena and Adam. Three great grandchildren Brandon, Aiden and Liam. He was the youngest of nine children leaving his sister Gertrude Lincoln and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert, Alice, Edgar, Grace, Harold, Ralph and Violet. A service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton on Thursday, August 20th at 11 AM. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 5-7 PM. Interment at the Bourne National cemetery will be private for family.
