Obituary

Patricia (Ryder) O'Donnell, affectionately known as Pat, Pattie, Babes, and Mame, passed away on August 9th after a brief illness. Born on July 11, 1949, she was 66.

She is survived by her loving husband, James J. "Big Jim" O'Donnell Jr., with whom she shared 45 years of marriage, and their eldest son, James J. "Jimmy" O'Donnell III, his wife, Jessica Pacheco, and granddaughter Madeline O'Donnell of Haverhill, MA. Pattie and Jim's youngest son and Godfather to Maddy, Michael J. "Mikey" O'Donnell, predeceased her in December 2014.

Pattie was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (DuBree) Ryder and loving sister of Joan Brutschea of North Wales, PA; William Ryder Jr and his wife Heidi of Warminster, PA; Joseph Ryder and his wife Kathy of Southampton, PA; David Ryder and his wife Lucy of Lake Mary, FL; Stephen Ryder and his wife Jeannine of West Chester, PA.

Pattie was raised in Philadelphia, PA, but had a passion for Patriots football even though her husband and sons (and really the rest of the family) were die-hard Eagles fans. She loved being a Mame and spending time and playing Candyland with her granddaughter Maddy, whom she always let cheat and win. Pattie also enjoyed visiting the Bahamas each year and playing cards with her friends.

Join us to celebrate Pattie on Saturday, August 15th at 8:30 am at Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd. Rt. 3A, Manomet, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bonaventure’s Church at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in honor of her son Michael; Boston Chapter, 12 Bjorklund Ave, Worcester MA 01605, or online at www.afsp.org.
