Obituary

Worcester- Martina S. Bjorn passed away peacefully at the Lutheran House on August 11, at the age of 92, following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Albany, New York, a daughter of the late Cornelius and Dorothy (Nichols) Schouten.

She grew up in Castleton-on Hudson, New York and graduated from Albany Business College. Soon after, she met and married the love of her life, her Bob. They had fifty-one wonderful years together, living first on Apollo Rd in Worcester. They moved to West Boylston where they lived for many years and then retired to North Fort Myers, Fl.

Martina worked at WPI for several years and then went to work for Holbrook Drop Forge, now Kervick Enterprises, in Worcester.

She is predeceased by her parents, her brother, Gerardus F. Schouten and her husband Robert H. Bjorn who passed away in 1997.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter Robin Keisling and her husband, Paul of Boylston; her son Robert H. Bjorn Jr. and his wife Joan of North Brookfield; her Grandchildren, Jennifer Racine and her husband Chris, Kristi Vazifdar and her husband Phiroz, Julie Erdman and her husband Adrian, and Joel Keisling and his wife Weronika. Also, by her great grandchildren, Chloe, Laila, Sophie, Annika, Stella, and Ames.

There will be a memorial service at 12:00 noon on Sunday August 16, 2015, at Salem Covenant Church, 215 East Mountain St, Worcester, MA 01606.

Arrangements are under the care of CALLAHAN-FAY & CASWELL FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Covenant Church.

The family wishes to thank the Summit Elder Care family for their years of care and support. We also thank the staff of the Lutheran Home for their care and compassion.
