Obituary

Eileen (Wade) Sherry died peacefully at Life Care of Raynham on August 6, 2015, after a short
period of failing health.
She was the beloved wife of the late Norman F. Sherry, they were married on April 13, 1945 at
Sacred Heart Church in Taunton. Eileen was born in 1922 in Taunton, Ma daughter of the late John J.
Wade and Margaret L. (Collins) Wade. She attended the former Immaculate Conception
School and was a graduate of Taunton High School and Bristol County Business School.
Eileen was employed by the City of Taunton in City Hall as Senior Clerk of the Sewer
Department for 30 years.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Carolyn F. Sherry in 1966, her son-in-law, Stephen
Hyland in 1983 and her sister-in-law, Marilyn (Sherry) Alexander
She is survived by her 3 daughters and their husbands; Linda (Peter) Pirozzi, Noreen (John)
Bisio and Susan (Kane) Winn, and 6 grandchildren, Monica (Pirozzi) and her husband, Paul
Fahey, Meghan Hyland, who has been her constant companion and confidant during her long
stay at LCR, Courtney Hyland and Ryan Motta, Bridgid (Hyland) and her husband, Shane
Mulrooney, Carsen Winn and Olivia Winn, and 2 great grandchildren, Callan Fahey and Ciaran
Mulrooney.
Her siblings include J. Donald Wade and Clement Wade, both deceased and Robert Wade.
Survived by her sister-in-law Norma Wade (Clement) and her long time friend Gloria (Lacey)
Brown. Brother-in-law Donald Sherry and his wife Patricia. And several nieces and nephews, closest among them is Anne Alexander and
Scott (Denise) Alexander and family.
Eileen was a member of the Business and Professional Women, Taunton Gaelic Society,
The Red Hat Society, Taunton Garden Club and Queens Daughters.
She enjoyed traveling with her many friends, especially to Ireland, where her father was born
in Clonakilty, County of Cork and later vacationed yearly in Marco Island, Florida.

A Memorial Service will be held on August 12 at 11AM at the United Church of Assonet, 9 N.
Main Street, Assonet, MA and will be celebrated by Reverend Jo Ann Carol-Wheeler, also
Pastor of the Church. Rev. Jo Ann is Chaplain of the Life Care of Raynham, where she has given
her spiritual support, comfort and kindness to Eileen.

Burial will be at St Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton Thursday, August 13 at 11 AM
