Obituary

Arthur “Artie” R. Stack passed peacefully with family by his side at the McCarthy House in Sandwich MA on August 6th from long term illness. He was 87 years old. Born on May 14, 1928 in Somerville MA to the late Arthur E. Stack and Eleanor H. (Ravagni), Artie lived most of his life as a resident of Somerville. He was a Merchant Marine and enlisted in the US Army where he served his country proudly during WWII. A lifetime member of the Dilboy Post #529 in Somerville where he also served as Commander in the early 70’s. During his term he worked with the city doing charitable works that benefited so many. He worked as a Glazer and later worked for GTE Laboratories in Waltham. He was a beloved husband to Theresa M. (Busi) Stack for over 64 years. He is predeceased by his loving daughter Debra Lodato and was a devoted father to his surviving children David A. Stack of Plymouth and Karen M. Haskell also of Plymouth. Arthur is survived by his brother William C. Stack of St. Louis Missouri and is predeceased by his two sisters Ruth Jacques and Genevieve McCallum. Cherished Grandfather to Carrie Miller, Lynne Lodato, Michael Lodato, Stephen Cameron and Jessica DiRusso as well as three Great Grandchildren and one Great-Great Grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Davis Funeral Home 619 State Rd. Plymouth (Manomet) on Sunday from 2 till 5 pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Monday morning at 9:00 am followed by a Graveside service at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 10:30 am.
