WORCESTER, MA: Raymond N. Mayotte, 85, of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, formerly of Worcester, died on Friday, July 24, 2015 at his home, with his family by his side.
He leaves his beloved wife of 63 years, Gloria (Pepper) Mayotte; two daughters, Susan Koblara and her husband Gary of Sturbridge, Lisa Taylor and her husband Bruce of Orford, NH; two sons, Ricky Mayotte and his wife Carol of West Brookfield, VT; Jeffrey Mayotte and his wife Nancy of Morrill, ME; a brother, Robert Mayotte of Worcester; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Jimmy Mayotte on February 12, 2013 and his grandson-in-law, Keith D. Belinskas on August 8, 2011, and his great grandaughter, Brittney Starr Lent of Millbury. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Louis and Melvina (Ouellette) Mayotte, attended Worcester Boys Trade School, and graduated from David Hale Fanning School of Nursing in 1984. He also lived in Millbury and in Orford, NH before moving to Cape Elizabeth, ME.
Ray worked as a carpenter and general contractor for many years. He had also worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse and was an accomplished author. He was a former member of the Lions Club and the Singletary Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed oil painting, archery, hunting, fishing, camping and gold panning. He also loved playing the guitar, singing, and was a huge Patriots Fan. His greatest joy in life was being surrounded by his family.
After cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family from 1 to 2 P.M on SATURDAY, AUG. 8 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. in Worcester, immediately followed by a MEMORIAL CEREMONY in CELEBRATION of Ray’s life at 2 P.M., in the funeral home. Please consider sharing a story or a special memory of Ray during the ceremony. The family will bury Ray’s ashes in Orford, Maine at a later date.
