Evelyn T. (Durand) Rogers, 85, passed away Friday, July 31, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.
Her husband of 25 years, Eugene A. Rogers died in 1977.
She leaves a son, Glenn D. Rogers and his wife Sheila of FLA., 3 daughters; Jackie R. Marcotte of Dudley, Charlene L. wife of Joseph S. Antkowiak of Webster, and Geraldine G. Rogers and her companion Chris Mina of Webster, a sister, Doris Boutin of Thompson, CT., 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was predeceased by a grandson, Joseph S. Antkowiak, Jr. who died in 1980, and 5 brothers; Alfred, Conrad, Lionel, Roland and Robert Durand.
She was born September 26, 1929 in the North Grosvenordale section of Thompson the daughter of the late Philip and Rose (Mandeville) Durand.
Evelyn worked at the former Stevens Linen Associates Co. in Dudley before retiring.
She was known for her painting and knitting skills and was also very well known at Lanessa Extended Care in Webster as the Welcoming Committee.
Most of all, she will be remembered as a very caring and loving grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.
As per her request, there are No calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 10, 2015 at 10AM at St. Joseph’s Church, 18 Main St., North Grosvenordale, burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
The ROBERT J. MILLER FUNERAL HOME and LAKE CHAPEL, 366 School St., Webster is assisting Evelyn’s family with arrangements.
