Obituary

Worcester: Robert R. Chagnon, 94, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015 in Rose Monahan Hospice. His wife of 50 years, Phyllis E. (Rich) Chagnon predeceased him in 1997. He leaves several cousins including Donald Kender and his wife Jeanne of Webster and John Paul Lacombe and his wife Maureen of Shrewsbury.

Bobby was born in Marlboro, son of the late Robert W. and Mildred (Boileau) Chagnon. He graduated from Commerce High School in 1940 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, serving as a pharmaceutical technician in the medical corp. in Italy and North Africa. He owned and operated Chagnon's Market from 1946-1953 and then worked as a butcher and deli manager at Brockleman Brothers Market and Stop and Shop, retiring in May 1983. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, the American Legion Post 319, Disabled American Veterans Post 4, and the Auburn Elks.

A calling hour will be held on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 9-10 a.m. in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St. A funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 in Our Lady of the Rosary Church 25 Fales St..
