Obituary

Worcester – James E. Starling, 65, of Worcester, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 24th in his home.

Mr. Starling is survived by his two children, Rachel M. Mahoney and James N. Starling both of Worcester; his 8 grandchildren and a sister, Sally. Jim was born in Riverside, CA, son of James E. Starling Sr. and Nadine (Belanger) Huff.

Jimmy worked for Coyne Textiles for 40 years, with an extensive customer base that lasted through the years. He retired in 2014 and was a member of the Teamsters Local 170 since 1984.

Jim was a solid fixture in his community. He opened his home to countless stray cats, often adopting them. He had a great network of friends in the neighborhood and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid card player and excelled at poker, pitch and cribbage. Jimmy was a loyal Red Sox Fan and also enjoyed watching football.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 5th from 5 to 7 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to Sweetpea Friends of Rutland 1090 Pleasant Street Paxton, MA 01612.
