In Taunton, July 26, 2015 Elaine C. (Donnelly) Briody, Age 94, passed away at home peacefully while surrounded by her loving family. Elaine was the wife of the late John Francis Briody. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Patrick E. & Edith M. (Conaty) Donnelly. Elaine attended the former Immaculate Conception School and was a graduate of Taunton High School. She was employed for the City of Taunton as the secretary of Cohannet School and the Taunton Telephone Company. Elaine was a member of the Sacred Heart Women’s Guild, Weir Seniors and the Taunton Gaelic Society. She enjoyed reading, visiting casinos, dining out, watching the Red Sox and above all her time with family. Elaine is survived by her children John Briody of Providence, RI, Richard Briody of Taunton, Charles Briody and his wife Joanne of East Taunton, Nancy Briody of Taunton and her late daughters Elaine Matesanz and her husband Xavier and Bonnie Therien and her late husband Bud. She also leaves her siblings Edith Furtado, Dorothy Taylor, Jeanne Campbell Walker, Alice Boivin and the late Edward Donnelly. She also leaves her loving grandchildren Michael Briody and his wife Denise, Norwell, Trissa and Gavin Therien,Briana Therien and her husband Miles Brugman, Patrick Briody and his wife Leah, Alyson, Christopher, David Briody and Ariana Briody, Paul Camara jr.and her four great grandchildren Talon , Willow and Ember Therien and Cassidy Briody. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 1st at the Annunciation of the Lord Church at 10:30 am. Burial to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
