Obituary

Stephen P. Trainor, 58, of Worcester died, Friday, July 24th surrounded by his loving family. Stephen is survived by his brother, Thomas G. Trainor; three sisters, Theresa M. and Ellen M. Trainor and Kathleen M. Hinson and her husband, John all of Worcester; his long time companion Mary Ellen Murphy; two nephews, Stephen and Christopher Hinson and his uncle, Richard Trainor of Colorado Springs.
He was born in Worcester, the son of George T. and Mary T. (Brosnihan) Trainor. Stephen had worked for the City of Worcester at Hope Cemetery for many years. However, Stephen will be remembered for his long time dedication and commitment to the Worcester County St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee which he had chaired for over 16 years. In 2008 he was he was selected as Grand Marshall of the Worcester County St. Patrick’s Day Parade. He was also a member of St. Peter’s Parish, the Emerald Club, the Grand Lodge of the International Order of Odd Fellows, and had served as past commander of the Sons of the American Legion, Tatnuck Post 288.
His funeral is Wednesday, July 29th with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Tuesday, July 28th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue.
