Larry J. Lawler, age 69, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS. He was born July 31, 1945 in Memphis, TN to the late Jerome William and Hazel Ione Fergie Lawler. Larry graduated Marion L. Steele High School in Amherst, Ohio and received his associate degree in Industrial Engineering from Loraine County Community College in Loraine, Ohio. He worked in management for Kimberly-Clark in Memphis, TN for 30 years before moving to Water Valley where he was owner and operator of Lawler's Grocery in the Sylva Rena community for twelve years. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Larry was a faithful member and deacon of Sylva Rena Baptist Church and enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Sylva Rena Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm at Sylva Rena Baptist Church with Bro. Shane Crawford and Bro. David Roberson officiating. Burial will be in the Sylva Rena Cemetery with Kevin Lawler, Matthew Lawler, David Brown, Dwain Becton, Jim Blake, and Travis Brooks serving as pallbearers. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Karan Church "Kay" Lawler of Water Valley, MS; two sons, Robert Jerome (Kimberly) Lawler of Lakeland, TN and David Ray (Tammy) Lawler of Bella Vista, AR; his brother, Jerry O’Neil Lawler of Memphis, TN; and four grandchildren, Allison Lawler, Matthew Lawler, Rebekah Lawler, and Hannah Lawler. | ||||
